Job Description
Qualification & Experience:
- Degree/Diploma in Nursing Science
- Registered with the Nursing Council (SANC)
- Experience in a Renal Unit will be an advantage
- Willingness to work flexi shifts
- Own reliable transport
Key Areas:
- Practice patient care according to the Scope of Practice.
- Provide care to patients before and after dialysis treatments, including pre-dialysis assessment to check vital signs and vascular access
- Creates and updates nursing care plans to guide patient care and collaborates with physicians and other healthcare team members to adjust treatment plans
- Execute all procedures according to hospital standards
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records
Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patient’s conditions - Administer and store medication in accordance with the hospital policy
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures to maintain a sterile and secure environment. Maintain a safe working environment
- Maintain professional conduct and standards at all times in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
- Prepares and operates dialysis machines, including priming dialyzers and bloodlines, and ensures they are functioning correctly
- Administers prescribed medications and intravenous fluids to patients during treatment sessions
- Continuously monitors patients during treatment for any adverse reactions or complications and assesses their overall well-being.
