Speech Therapist – Johannesburg (Alberton)

Job Description

Qualification & Experience:

• Degree in Speech language and Hearing Therapy / Audiology or Communication Pathology;
• Registered with HPCSA as a speech-language therapist or speech-language therapist and audiologist;
• Minimum of 1-year practical experience as a speech-language therapist or speech-language therapist and audiologist in a hospital or private practice is essential; and
• 1 year experience working in a practical, therapeutic context.
  
  

Key Areas:

• Ability and experience to work from an evidence-based approach;
• Special interest in early communication intervention or alternative and augmentative communication or neurodevelopment disorders or literacy development or feeding disorders or parent coaching;
• Ability to deliver therapeutic services to children 0-18 years;
• Knowledge of and ability to conduct school readiness and concession application assessments.
• Knowledge of parent-implemented and family-focused intervention;
• Computer literacy (Microsoft office);
• Good verbal and written communication skills; and
• Ability to use e-media for teaching, studying and communication.
