RN – Theatre Scrub – Pretoria North

Job Description

Qualification & Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma in Nursing Science
• Qualification in Operating Theatre
• Registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC)
• Qualification or experience in theatre scrub
• Excellent communication skills
• Willing to work shifts

Key Areas:

• Scrubbing for various theatre lists in accordance with qualification and experience.
• Assist surgeon with procedures, and monitor the patient throughout the operation

• Communicates with surgeons throughout the procedure to ensure a successful operation
• Preparing the patient for the move to the recovery room
• Complete any necessary documentation regarding the surgery
• Maintain a therapeutic, clean and safe environment that is free of any hazards
• Responsible for ensuring correct use, cleaning and storage of equipment
